Paid internet advertising and search engine optimization (SEO) have grown mature. These once leading-edge technologies are now giving way to Social Media marketing and organic search results based on rich content, and here’s why.
Paid advertising, on the internet as well as within Social Media such as Facebook, remain proven methods to market your brand.
Yet it’s the newer Social Media technologies, which are still in a stage of rapid deployment, that in many ways are where SEO and paid advertising were just a few short years ago.
1. Reduced deployment costs.
The cost to develop rich content versus buying paid advertising is typically much less. For example, Frommer’s Unlimited general manager Joel Brandon-Bravo said recently said that their cost for website content is about half the investment of pay-per-click advertising.
2. Superior search results from rich content.
Google loves fresh content. The more you write and update your website/blog, the higher you place in search rankings. Understanding and using keywords is still useful but not as helpful when used on sites that do not update often. Frequently changing content, typical of a blog, is the most in depth, and offers great value to your customers and prospects too. At the same time, its very nature and related links drive excellent, organic search results.
3. Targeting Social Media ads.
Facebook remains a rapidly growing, high engaged community which continues to evolve and become more open. Marketing on Facebook via fan pages and targeted advertising, done well, is highly effective. You need to know and understand your market to get the most value from your buck.
